Waitlisted - Telling Your Story
Tuesdays 1:00-2:30pm PDT - Weeks 2-5
Telling your professional story helps people get to know you and what you can do. It’s part of making a great first impression and getting people on your side. In this series, we will work on finding and developing your story, using it to introduce yourself (sometimes called an elevator pitch), and on using your story to answer one of the most important job interview questions. You’ll have a chance to practice talking about yourself with a group of peers in a friendly environment.
You can read details of what we’ll do each week down below. All times are PDT.
Thanks to great interest, registration in Telling Your Story is closed. We are keeping a waitlist and if spots open up, we will contact students in order from that list.

Session Four
We’ll finish up our time together by sharing our answers to “Tell me about yourself,” and getting feedback from the rest of the group. We’ll wrap up with a summary of what you’ve learned and celebrate your accomplishments.

Session Three
Practice introducing yourself to the group and hear others’ introductions. Then we’ll talk about the importance of the interview question, “Tell me about yourself.” We’ll finish up with time to work on your answer to that question.

Session Two
We’ll start by sharing elements of our developing stories, then talk about short introductions. We’ll take time to develop a template for introducing yourself online or in person, and you’ll have time to work out various versions of your introduction.

Session One
After talking about what you hope to get out of the group. we’ll explore the idea of your professional identity and the elements that make up your professional story. We’ll work with some prompts to generate ideas and start to develop the details of your story. You’ll have the chance to share some of your ideas and see what others are building.
