More than 85% of positions are filled through networking. Building your creative community helps you build a sense of belonging, allows you to learn from professionals in your field, and can lead to a job opportunity. In this series, we will learn about networking, informational interviews, and much more! You’ll have the opportunity to practice communication skills and build your confidence, preparing you for your next networking event.

Thanks to great interest, registration for Building Your Creative Community is closed. We are keeping a waitlist and if spots open up, we will contact students in order from that list.

The fourth meeting will be a networking event with ArtCenter Alumni. During our last meeting, you will 

  • receive advice from ArtCenter alumni about networking, personal branding, and interviews.

  • expand your creative community by networking with ArtCenter alumni.

  • celebrate the completion of all four sessions.

In the third meeting we will review an important networking tool — virtual informational interviews. By the end of the meeting, you will

  • understand informational Interviews and their benefits.

  • learn how to conduct informational interviews virtually.

  • prepare for an informational Interview with an artist or designer. 

  • develop outreach and follow up messaging to send after your informational interview.

  • write and review professional outreach messaging to artists and designers.
